Wedding Cards – What Inspired Us

Hi, I’m Leah, one of the card designers on Shutterfly’s fabulous design team. We are so lucky to be able to create cards for your important life moments—and that includes weddings! The most inspiring thing about designing a save the date or wedding announcement is the story behind it. When we were tasked to create our newest Wedding collection, we were inspired by you and your modern-day love story. After all, every couple has a story to tell—whether funny, romantic or quirky. We want to help you tell yours.

We’re excited and proud to share a few of our favorite cards with you—and what inspired us.

These are cute. They never had ‘save the date’ when I got married 20 years ago. I think it is a fun idea.

I really like these examples. I think when my brother and sister-in-law got married in ’07 they sent out Save The Date cards – she made all of hers. I think these are such a terrific idea and so personal! Love it

I love Save the Date Cards. I wish we had these when my children married. Great idea and wonderful selection. Thank you Shutterfly.

more about Leah H

Hello! My name is Leah Hefner and I’m a content designer and illustrator for Shutterfly. I’ve been a designer for over 5 years and can safely say that creating products for you with our team of wonderful Shutterfly designers is one of the best jobs I can think of. When I’m not creating characters for a greeting card or flowers for a photo book, I’m taking advantage of everything San Francisco has to offer. Being an Air Force brat taught me to love traveling and diversity, and I’ve found that living in a city like San Francisco helps curb my wanderlust and allows me to embrace all different types of people, art, music and food. I love my life and have you to thank for it.
