Touch the men in your life with a photo book

The men in my family are tough to shop for. My dad doesn’t want another gadget, my step-dad (the reader) insists on getting his books from the library, my husband would rather die than add more material objects to our lives, and my grandfather is ninety-nine years old. All he wants are photos and letters. What is a woman to do?

Then I discovered the power of photo books [1]. Photo books turn the men in my family into teary-eyed sentimentalists. They smile, they pour over the pages, they wipe tears when they think no one is looking, they go back to the book again and again and again. Let me give you an example. My grandfather turned ninety-nine in September and I was going through my usual…what do I give him? Flowers? A card? A call? Some prints?…when I realized we had just come out with our new 7×9 soft cover photo books. It was time to create one.

I didn’t have a lot of time, so I uploaded a jumble of existing Shutterfly photos, and used our All NEW Custom Path [2] photo book tool. By the way, if you haven’t tried our all NEW Custom Path, check it out here [2]. It’s so easy to make photo books just the way you want now. I’m hooked. I chose the “Versatile Classics” backgrounds in the “Everyday” style. The “Autofill” tool  automatically placed the photos on the pages which was brilliant – just the way I would have wanted. I added some beautiful embellishments, tweaked a couple layouts, and I was done.

Grandpa LOVED this photo book. The day he received it he called me to say thank you – and grandpa doesn’t call very often, so this was a big deal. He told me how special the gift was, how much it meant to him, how beautiful it looked, and how he would always treasure it. Knowing the book meant so much to Grandpa was incredibly gratifying for me. I had given him something meaningful.

So maybe it’s not just the men in my family who get sentimental over Shutterfly photo books [3]. Maybe it’s me too.

Try it for yourself this Father’s Day and you’ll see what I mean.
