Crafty…does that describe you? In some areas it describes me. But, for the most part, I am NOT very crafty. Let me introduce myself, my name is Kellie Brown [2] and I am a Shutterfly photo book [3] addict. I have a thirteen month old daughter whom I make an 8×8 hardback photo book for each month. Yes, you read that correctly, EACH month! It is truly amazing how much a baby changes month to month and this is why I make it a priority to make her a book each month. She has inspired me to document our life with her as much as possible so she can look back on times that she won’t be able to recall and cherish the memories we shared with her as a baby. In fact, in my house, the Shutterfly books I make have taken the place of the traditional baby books most families purchase. In my opinion, the traditional baby book is boring, generic, and I don’t want to “just fill in the blanks.”

In order to document her milestones and any other items that we celebrate/commemorate, I use Shutterfly’s Custom Path and add a ton of pictures to each page. To be completely honest, when I first started out, I thought I would be overwhelmed. But, Shutterfly has idea pages, stickers, embellishments, storyboards (where you can organize groups of photos within the book), and SO much more. It really isn’t difficult to do and the possibilities are endless as to what you can do. Shutterfly also has the option to upload pictures and they create a book for you. How easy is that? You can use the book created online and then adjust it to your liking.

The best way to describe the response I get from others about the photo books I have created is awe and shock. Many people think it takes a ton of time and they couldn’t do it. But, once you get started and explore the site, everyone is relieved and surprised.

In fact, my mother was so impressed by her “Birth-1 Month” book, that she ordered it as well as all the other books, photo prints, coffee mugs, magnets, etc. She lives 600 miles from us and we get teary eyed discussing the books when they arrive. My mother’s plan is to pass her books on to my daughter once she is older; that way I get to keep mine and my daughter will also have a set.

I know when I order my books from Shutterfly, as well as prints [4], mugs [5], cards [6], magnets [7], and all the other items I have ordered, they will arrive on time and just as I see them online. Their customer service is top notch and readily available.

So, what are you waiting for? Try one of the several available options and create a photo book that you will treasure for years to come!
