I can’t get enough of photo booth pictures ^[1]. They’re fun, they’re silly, they make me smile. And there’s something about a photo booth that brings out the playfulness in everyone. None of this boring “say cheese” stuff. You get all sorts of spontaneous moments and larger than life goofy faces.

That’s why I’m so pleased that photo booths are back in style. You see them at wedding receptions all the time now. In fact there is a VERY silly collection of wedding photo booth books ^[3] on Shutterfly Gallery ^[4], which I peruse every time I need a pick-me-up.

Now here’s a thought. Why limit photo booths to weddings? Why should brides and grooms have all the fun? Photo booths are great for ANY party! And you really don’t need an actual photo BOOTH either. Just set up a party photo station with an assigned photographer, and encourage everyone to think of the station as a booth! No prom poses allowed! I think this idea is perfect for holiday parties, too. Guests will welcome the opportunity to de-stress with some photo spontaneity.
