This Bridal Shower was based loosely on the couple’s love for travel. I decided to use chalkboard elements because they remind me of traveling through Europe. I paired the chalkboard with citrus because it was a great compliment to the black and white. Fresh and colourful for summer.
As a jumping off point I was inspired by these bright invitations they were fresh and crisp and I loved the fonts. The flowers on the invite inspired the arrangement of ranunculus, peonies, lilac, roses kumquats and fresh trailing greens. I decided to put the arrangement in an urn to keep with the travel feel.
These plates mean love or I love you in the couple’s favourite countries’ languages such as France, Sweden, and Germany. I used an ornament to put on the plates of the couple on their travels together.. The bride can then keep the plates and ornaments for a gift after making the hostesses job a tad simpler.. The template for these deigns can be found here.
For the food table I dipped old soda bottles in chalkboard paint and used chalk markers to write their wedding sate initials and other sentiments that were important to the couple. I also loved using Shutterfly’s plaques as food labels that I can use over and over again without ever having to remember where I put that piece of chalk I can never seem to find.
