No photo book time? No problem.

« Back to Photo Book Ideas

When my sister and I returned from Disneyland, I promised I would make her a Disney photo book to celebrate the fun memories.

But here’s the reality:

  1. I don’t have time to create the book (only about 10 minutes today)
  2. I want the book to look special and well thought out even though I have only 10 minutes to create it
  3. The book needs to ship tomorrow

Am I nuts? Should I just give it up and walk away? Absolutely not. Why? Two words: Simple Path

Simple Path is a revolutionary new way to create photo books. All you have to do is upload your photos and Shutterfly instantly does the rest. It’s perfect for people like me who have no time and want a great looking book, or for people making their first photo book (because it’s so easy to use). I’m on real time as I write this article…so I’d better start creating my photo book now!

STEP 1 – I go to the Simple Path page

STEP 2 – I choose my book size. I’m going for the large 12×12 because I really want the images to be big and bold. This is a special gift for my sister after all.

STEP 3 – I upload my Disney images – all at once.

STEP 4 – I watch the images turn into a book – I love this part. Like magic! The book is created instantly, and the images are placed in the same kind of order and layouts I would choose myself

STEP 5 – I change the title, add a few captions, choose my favorite backgrounds, and DONE!

It took me literally 7 minutes to create this book. The large 12×12 format will make the images look stunning, so I know my sister is going to love it. And I managed to defy my time reality. Thank you Simple Path!

Where's my photo?

That’s an amazing achievement, Rachel, and you’ve presented how to do it in such an understandable way.

The only thing different I might do is make sure the photos are in the order I want for my book. That is really easy thanks to shutterfly. Great idea and we have plenty of cooler weather to stay inside and make our books. I’m behind on making books from vacations or holidays or just a little special day with the grandkids.

I love the way you describe the how-to’s in your articles. Its really helpful. I also noticed yesterday when I added my Christmas photos to My Pictures that I got an email from Shutterfly with a Simple Path book they created with my photos. I think I’m going to do that this year for my Christmas pictures.
I love the ease of Simple Path.

I have to admit this. I really enjoy using Simple Path. I have been a Custom path girl all the way but just for the fun of it, I made a Halloween book with Simple Path and was so impressed! There are some of my photo books I like set up in a time line fashion for example vacation books. I enjoy seeing the memories of a special weekend or holiday unfold in the order they happen in the book. Simple Path does this for you! I don’t have to try and remember what picture was take when, Simple Path puts your photos in the exact order you took them. The pictures I took the week before Halloween that included school parties, costume parades, pumpkin carving and trick or treating were all put right in order. What a time saver!
    Simply perfect!

more about Rachel B

Thank you for visiting “Picture More”, Shutterfly's Community Blog. My name is Rachel, and I come from a long line of photo enthusiasts. My grandparents kept a large (and heavy!) collection of family photo albums in their living room, which my sister and I loved looking through. My mother continued the tradition by becoming a hobby photographer (phrases like “smile, “hold that pose” and “let me get my camera” were a constant part of our lives). Now my sister and I are avid camera fans. She takes beautiful pictures of her children, and I enjoy capturing the many far-away places my husband and I visit. What I love about Shutterfly is that it helps me turn my photos into meaningful keepsakes like photo books, calendars, and photo gifts (I love my coasters, posters, mug and mouse pad!). My memories are now a part of my everyday life, not living in a shoe box or hard drive. And what I love about "Picture More" is that it will help us get even more creative with our pictures. I'm excited to exchange ideas with all of you!
