New invitations for summer celebrations

Summer is my favorite season because it brings me back to my youth, when I hadn’t a care in the world. All I needed to think about was showing up for swim practice and being home by dinner time.

Now that I am older, summer means hot days, BBQ grilling, time with family and friends, and frosty cocktails to cool down during a warm summer’s night. With our recently launched Summer invitation collection, we have an invitation for every type of party: summer soiree, pool party, picnics, family reunions, cookouts and barbeques, Luau, 4th of July, cocktail party, Fiesta, and beach party.

If you’re looking for party inspiration, I highly recommend using our invitations as a starting point. Once you pick the card, you’ll know your theme, your colors, and your style. The rest is easy.

For my own party ideas, I’ll start with Shutterfly’s summer soiree card. I’m going to feature paper lanterns (just like you see on the card), which will add the perfect ambiance to an evening get together, and I will also include the card’s fresh turquoise background in my decorations, plates, napkins, etc.

Now all we need to do is send out our invitations!

I am in the middle of making invitations to three different birthday parties that will be our big summer events. I made a custom Lego invitation for my son Tyler’s 7th birthday party by taking a picture of his favorite Lego creation to put on the cover. My daughter, Alyssa is turning 10, her party will be a red and black rock and roll birthday theme, and I was able to find a zebra print red boarder invitation for to make for her. In addition, my husband is throwing himself a party and I am ready to make something for that evening.

Love the cardstock cards. I wish we had them for digi designs in the flat cards, also. I designed one for my moms birthday and I used the folded card to get the card stock! Shutterfly offers so many we really don’t need to design our own. Thank you for the great ideas. I will be making more this summer!
