My Favorite Resort

The other day I was going through travel pictures with my wife and we started talking about our vacations. We both agreed that the Secrets Silversands in the Riviera Maya, Mexico was our favorite resort. I hope my pictures here can do it justice.

Let me set the scene for you. We were in our van from the airport to the resort and we pulled up to a beautiful white building with a straw overhang in the entrance and large glass sliding doors where you could see through the lobby into the infinity pool and onto the ocean. It was breathtaking! We were then greeted with champagne upon check-in and were told we had been upgraded to an ocean view suite…could this get any better?! Yes it could! Our room was above one of the many pools (43,000 sq ft of pools!) and looked over the ocean!

Room View

I could’ve slept on the floor in a hotel with this view but the room was just as spectacular. They spared no expense when creating these rooms. We had a nice sitting area that was separate from the sleeping area; the bathrooms were immaculate (with a sliding wall by the bathtub so you could enjoy the view from the tub), flat screen television, and a balcony with a padded bench that made for great afternoon naps!

Our Room (notice sliding door/mirror by the tub. The divider between the bed and couch would light up…very cool!)

Once we got over how nice the room was we decided to take a stroll and explore the property. There was water everywhere between the pools, the ocean and little fountains. It was truly paradise and how do you really describe paradise in words?! So here’s a series of pictures of the grounds:

Not only was this resort beautiful but also it was all-inclusive! Which means all of our food, drinks, and tips were included in the price. If you have never done an all-inclusive vacation before I would HIGHLY recommend it because it so relaxing and everything is taken care of for you…not a worry in the world. There were 8 restaurants (many of which were gourmet) and 8 different bars/lounges and nightly entertainment.

We had so much fun here and can’t wait to go back!

What’s your favorite resort?

@Shannonr – I’ve been to the Orange Lake Resorts, I love that place! It’s been awhile since I’ve been there and I totally forgot about that place until I saw your comment. Thanks for bringing back memories!

@AnnAbbott – No this one was not all-inclusive but they have “sister” resorts called Dreams resorts that are family friendly and just as incredible! Feel free to ask me any questions on resorts when you get into your research/planning stage for the trip. You really can’t beat all-inclusive!
