Celebrating nieces and nephews

« Back to Family, Photo Book Ideas

I just discovered we have hundreds of Shutterfly Gallery books devoted to nieces and nephews. This means a lot to me because I am a proud Auntie, and love that I am a part of my niece’s and nephews’ lives.

If you’re an aunt or uncle and want to show your nieces and nephews how much they mean to you, I highly recommend creating a special photo book all about them. Not only will they love receiving their own personal keepsake, but you’ll have a wonderful memento for yourself. Here are some of my favorites to get you started.

ShaunaD54 used our Baby template to create a baby photo book devoted to her niece. Shauna captured her niece’s first milestones, like first steps and first holiday experiences.

It’s not just about babies either. RebeccaT153 created a photo book starring her nephew’s teddy bear, and it takes him on a virtual tour of New York City. Her nephew loved it so much she followed it up with Abe the teddy bear’s adventures in Aruba.

RachelM2223′s Pumpkin Patch 2009 is all about quality time between auntie and niece. You see Dajia and her Aunt Rachel making silly faces, posing with pumpkins, even playing in the hay bales. This photo book is a great keepsake for both Rachel and her niece. Maybe Rachel will even make this a yearly tradition so she can look back at how much Dajia has grown over the years.

If you’re a digital scrapbooker, check out MelodyS24′s Wyatt. I love that each page is unique, and that Melody added special quotes and headers with different fonts.

How precious and having the love of your niece or nephew is just awesome. I have no sisters and brothers, so I miss that connection. I hope it feels a lot like having grandchildren. Great article.

My sister went to France this past summer – brought along Petite Round Pierre (little round Grover she picked up at Target). He went w/her and she took pictures of him on her trip and wrote a nice story for my kids. they love it!

I know my aunts meant the world to me growing up and if they gave me something like this I would have loved it. All of you aunties out there…you make a big impact on your nieces and nephews and I know this would be a great “make me feel extra special” gift…. hint, hint….

Hm… this one has me thinking. I have just one 18 yr old niece and 14 yr old nephew. A book of them through the years would be awesome. For their parents, for Grandma, for me. I would require a lot of scanning… I better get busy!!

Thank you for visiting “Picture More”, Shutterfly's Community Blog. My name is Rachel, and I come from a long line of photo enthusiasts. My grandparents kept a large (and heavy!) collection of family photo albums in their living room, which my sister and I loved looking through. My mother continued the tradition by becoming a hobby photographer (phrases like “smile, “hold that pose” and “let me get my camera” were a constant part of our lives). Now my sister and I are avid camera fans. She takes beautiful pictures of her children, and I enjoy capturing the many far-away places my husband and I visit. What I love about Shutterfly is that it helps me turn my photos into meaningful keepsakes like photo books, calendars, and photo gifts (I love my coasters, posters, mug and mouse pad!). My memories are now a part of my everyday life, not living in a shoe box or hard drive. And what I love about "Picture More" is that it will help us get even more creative with our pictures. I'm excited to exchange ideas with all of you!
