Everyone say “Hello” to Lindsay who we are thrilled to have with us today! She is showing off her beautiful vacation photo album book that she created with photos from her girls trip to Morocco. How fun, huh! Lindsay emphasizes the difficulty to get ourselves to do something with photos after taking them, like really, when do any of us have the time?! She’s found a great time saving and manageable solution, creating custom photo books online! Enjoy.
Taking photos on vacation is one thing, but actually doing something with them after is the real challenge. I found that using online photo albums is much more manageable then printing out photos and waiting to have time to scrapbook- which could be a long wait!
So about six years ago I started using Shutterfly photo albums to document my annual international adventures. The layouts make it easy to create a cohesive album that is still super customizable. I use the same 8×11 size for all my books so they look good together when I stack them on a bookshelf or the coffee table.
The process takes a while but mostly because I take way too many photos! After sifting through all of the photos and picking my favorites, I select a theme that matches best with my adventure. Even though I start with a theme, I always end up customizing the heck out of my albums with layouts, design elements and lots of travel stories.
You can read about my journaling process here. At the end each album is around 50 pages of colorful memories. Printing quality albums can add up but Shutterfly always has great promotions so I usually wait for a good seasonal Shutterfly coupon before I click order.
