We are so excited to have Lindsay here today sharing with us how she added a personal touch to her wedding with a beautiful photo wedding guest book! She is here with tips for staying on budget, customizing and creating a guest book that perfectly fits the couple. This is a great way to show off engagement photos and keep the sweet notes from your guests in one beautiful book!
A guestbook may not be high on your priority list if you’re planning a wedding because let’s be honest, there are just so many other things to think, obsess and stress over! It definitely wasn’t on my radar and when things got down to the wire I had to make a quick decision. After throwing around ideas, I decided to use our engagement photos to make a photo guestbook. It may not the most unique idea out there in the “Pinterest-sphere” but photo books are a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding. What’s even better is that after the festivities, you’re left with a great keepsake to cherish for years to come.
The downside to a photo guestbook is the price. If you order through a professional photographer a nice book can run you a pretty penny. Obviously there are benefits to professional albums, but they don’t always fit in the budget. On the other hand, for such a special occasion a typical DIY photo album may not cut it either. Enter layflat wedding albums. The perfect in between. Layflat albums have thicker pages that, as the name implies, “lay flat” just like a professional album but at a fraction of the cost. Perfect for a wedding guest book! After learning about all the options, I chose some of our favorite engagement photos and uploaded them to Shutterfly. I started with the “wedding collection guest book template” and then customized like crazy until the album felt like it said “us”.
If you didn’t get engagement photos not to worry. You can use photos of the two of you from throughout your relationship, or even just random candid images. I love the idea of a selfie only guestbook!
I love how our finished photo guest book turned out, and we treasure all of the sweet notes left by our guests.
And a huge thank you to our photographer Sarah Natasha for our stellar engagement photos!
